1. PORTALS FOR THE BUYERS’ DATA EXCHANGE

We use software or web portals of our buyers for computerized exchange of CAD data. CAD data can be transmitted continuously for 24 hours. If we do not have a connection with you yet, please send us your settings information to SPI@emo-orodjarna.si.

2. FTP EMO ORODJARNA

In case a buyer does not have his own data transmission system, we use our FTP server.

If you would like to inform us about the CAD data you have sent or would like to confirm the receival of the information, please contact us at CAD@emo-orodjarna.si.

Based on the CAD model of the product and other boundary conditions of the buyer, we make a rough estimate of the number of operations and the size of the tool. If necessary, we check the possibilities of manufacture with a simulation in Autoform and prepare an offer.

In the framework of the rough method, we anticipate technological operations and material consumption for the optimal project execution.

Product technology

Upon receiving the order, we create a detailed 3D technology of the product in Catia V5 program and a simulation in the Autoform program for all operations. We also prepare a 2D document presenting methodical operations and the simulation report. If necessary, we prepare a styrofoam model of the product for the discussions with the buyer’s experts, which is used for a detailed study of the product.

Feasibility study

In the framework of the method, we also create a feasibility study, in which we present our suggestions for improving the feasibility of the product.

All methodical operations are checked with simulations in the Autoform program. In this way, we provide the buyer with greater process safety, a quality product and production deadlines.

Parellel to the method and simulations, we create the placement of tools on the press (DLP – Durchlaufplan) in 3D Catia V5. The DLP presents the intended size and execution of tools, operational pieces with grippers and estimated transfer parameters, strokes in individual operations, waste disposal, etc.

The construction is entirely created in 3D Catia V5, which provides the highest quality and reliability of construction solutions, the precision of manufacture and faster NC programming. The construction is carried out in accordance with the buyer’s requirements, guidelines and standards.

Verifying design

We conduct product feasibility studies in which we verify the design of the product and give recommendations for improving the design of the product.

Rough methods

With rough methods we foresee technological operations and the rough usage of materials for the optimal implementation of projects.

Fine methods

We create a detailed 3D image of the product in Catia V5 and a simulation in Autoform for all operations. We also prepare a 2D document, which includes the presentation of methodical operations and the report of the simulation.

Placing tools onto the press

We use DLP to predict the size and realisation of tools, operational pieces with holders and the estimated transfer parameters, passages in specific operations, drainage of waste, etc.

Construction of tools and equipment

In accordance with the client’s requirements, directions and standards, we design the construction in 3D Catia V5.

Development

In the framework of the client’s boundary conditions we carry out the development of products which have a guaranteed design.

Our production capabilities make it possible to carry out a complete production process. Based on our own 3D construction of a tool, our team of technologists engineers works out and determines the technology of manufacturing individual tool elements and prepares technological procedures for creating positions in the Perftech Largo information system. CNC programs are created for various machines (2D, 3D and, if necessary, 5 axial programs), based on the complexity and dimensions of the workpiece, the type of material and the precision required, using state-of-the-art software tools (TopSolid 7.12, Goelan v5, Catia). With the help of computer simulations, they check whether the performance of individual treatments is optimal, with the aim of minimizing the production time and maximizing the precision of the elements or individual assemblies of the sheet metal forming tool.

We have a large number of high-quality CNC machines on which we produce individual tool elements. For their treatment, we use the highest quality cutting tools which we manufacture ourselves to a certain extent. We calibrate the cutting tools on a Zoller measuring device.

We regularly check the precision of our machines with our own control equipment. All machines are connected to a server on which NC programs are located via a local computer network.

In the renovated and additionally built hall, we have an entire surface covered by elevators, which enables us uninterrupted work in the manufacture, assembly and testing of tools. The team of experienced toolmakers, in collaboration with project managers, ensures quality work and end product. With mentoring, we successfully transfer our knowledge and experience to younger staff. A good and quality end product is a mirror of our company in the world and a way of attracting new buyers.

The first products from the forming tools are cut on our own 5 axial CNC laser machine. We use the TruTops Cell program for the CNC programming of cutting and the creation of a clamping device. In this manner, we guarantee the buyer a rapid delivery of prototype products or we can also make a small batch.

Tool testing is performed on three hydraulic presses (1000, 2000 and 3000 tons) in two shifts, including on Saturdays and Sunday mornings. If necessary, we also organize work during the night. The two presses have a lower and upper towing cushions built in, which allows us to test and produce highly demanding towing and cutting tools up to 6 x 3 meters in size. The new SH4 – 2000 t press also has the technological function of eccentric force leveling on the arm and in both cushions, with which it also calculates the most loaded point in the tool or the resultant force in the working stroke of the press based on the tool function. This is highly important information when constructing similar tools.

We have been using the Wenzel CNC measuring device for many years to ensure the accuracy of the product. The accuracy of the device is regularly checked by a laboratory accredited by ISO17025 by the Dutch accreditation service RvA and the Slovenian accreditation (SA) for the calibration of length and mechanical measuring devices.

The takeover of the manufactured tool is usually performed in our company and at the buyer’s request, we also test and run the tool on the buyer’s equipment and prepare it for the serial manufacture of products.
